Romance

This is the topic for this weeks Mixed Media Monday. Since I am no good with words, I decided to create a valentines card for my hubby to show him with images why I love him.  These are little things he does to make me feel special.

I recently completed this painting of a Ndebele woman and added some digi for the MMM challenge of this week.

Bedtime Stories

Bedtime stories, the topic at Mixed Media Monday was the perfect inspiration I needed to start my altered book project with. I just had to use this photo of my son falling asleep while listening to his bedtime story cd.

Pink

The theme at Mixed Media Monday is pink in honour of Breast Cancer month. After the initial shock of using a colour I almost never use, I had quite a bit of fun making this gift box. The heart button is embellished with beads.

Metal

I’ve been lurking at Mixed Media Monday for a while now, and finally I just HAD to take part.  Thanks so much for this week’s theme.

I’ve been painting a sleeping girl in acrylics, and was wondering what she should be holding. This week’s metal theme gave me an idea.

Plaid

I’ve taken a bit of a break from blogging, but decided that it’s time to return to it. My life is just so much more relaxed at the moment, as I am not trying to juggle two careers any more.

This is my entry for the latest Inspire Me Thursday topic, which is plaid. Not really knowing where to start I browsed through all my photos, and found this cutie of Clinton wearing plaid pants on his first birthday. I used elements from the Hopping Frog kit by Studio Lorie.

Holiday photos

I had two days off and spent just about all of it sorting through my photos and scrapbooking.  It’s been SO MUCH fun because I really didn’t have a single moment for myself since this year started. Here’s some of the layouts I’ve done:

This weeks challenge at IMT is two.  I just had to do something with the photos of our first weekend away in the caravan. And a weekend does have 2 days.

2008

I decided to keep my resolutions for 2008 as simple as possible.  I really want to slow down and enjoy the ride a lot more. All these photos were taken during the holiday on different day-trips.

Ice

This weeks IMT prompt is ice.  I froze a few different things and took them to the beach to photograph. I must say that it was a LOT of fun.
